With the advance team comprising of six officials departing on Thursday 25th August 2016 the trip will also see an additional group of 16 officials travel,totaling the team to 35 persons.
A situation that has seen trouble brewing in the Kenya National Paralympic committee (KNPC)with a rival group claiming that there is a separate list.The crux of the matter being mismanagement of funds.
KNPC President Agnes Oluoch has denied the allegations.
Oluoch however was unable to provide the list but opted to mention some of the names of the team travelling to RIO in a press conference that was held on Tuesday,August 23 at the KNSC boardroom in Nyayo Stadium.
According to Oluoch 28 athletes had qualified with ‘A’ Standard but the number was slashed to nine by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).Three of them got wild card.
A section of the board members led by Pauline Awange and Bernard Ong’ondo insisted lacks transparency.
