Migori Senator Ben Oluoch Okello is dead

Migori Senator Ben Oluoch Okello has died in Nairobi.

Mr Okello, a former Ramogi and KBC radio presenter, passed on at a Nairobi hospital after long battle with cancer.

Okello passed on at MP Shah Hospital shortly past midnight after battle with throat cancer.

The Orange Democratic Movement has confirmed the death describing him as a dedicated Life Member whose eagerness and urge to serve the people of Migori County in the Legislature has been cut short by Cancer.

“Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to his wife Hellen Achieng’ and their children, friends, relatives, colleagues in the Senate and the people of Migori County for the loss,” ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said in a statement.

“The ODM Party shall stand with the family of the late Senator Ben Oluoch in everyway during this difficult time of grief,” he stated.

The lawmaker’s body has since been moved to Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.

Mr Okello was elected Migori senator on an Orange Democratic Movement ticket in the August 8, 2017 elections.
