Almost 10 churches in Kibra constituency have been affected by the current demolition exercise being conducted by the Kenya Urban and Rural Roads Authority.

First to go down in the Monday demolition was Mashimoni SDA which was allegedly built on a Road Reserve.

A Church member who spoke to Ghetto Radio News says last week the church moved to court in desperate attempt to block the demolition but to no success.

Other churches facing demolitions include Darajani SDA which is allegedly built along a Railway Line, Katwekera S.D.A and Laini saba S.D.A  Churches which are also built along the Railway Line.

The Apostolic Church, the ADC Church, the PAG Church and Dini Ya Msalaba Church are also set to be demolished.

Several schools in Kibra are also facing demolition in the ongoing exercise. Mashimoni primary School is one of the schools marked for demolition.

The government early this week stopped the demolition temporarily to allow for dialogue and compensation process.
