Three Suspected thugs last night robbed traders in Nairobi’s Ngara area at gun point.
The three suspects who were on a motorbike arrived in Ngara on a motorbike at around 9.30 PM and robbed traders plying their business next to the Equity Bank.
A wines and spirits shop owner is among the traders who lost money and other valuables like phones.
Another trader who spoke to Ghetto Radio News says that she narrowly escaped the robbery having closed her business a bit early to beat curfew.
“Three suspected thugs came to our premises and stole from one of us. The guy had just closed his shop and was headed home, before the thugs accosted him and stole his money and other valuables,”narrated the trader.
“They apparently had a gun and after robbing the trader, they then proceeded and robbed a few residents before disappearing with a motorbike,” she stated.
The robbery led to a heightened operation by police officers in the area, that saw police officers lob teargas in a number shops affecting traders who use their shops as houses.
Just two weeks ago a watchman guarding a building was murdered in the same area that the alleged robbery took place.
