Four hundred procurement and accounting officers have been cleared in the ongoing vetting being conducted on public servants following a directive issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Uhuru last year during Madaraka Day celebrations ordered a polygraph test and and a lifestyle audit on all Heads of Procurement and Accounting Units over graft.
According to Government Spokesman Eric Kiraithe, the 400 have been cleared in the first phase of the vetting exercise which is almost coming to an end.
Kiraithe said that the second cohort of public officers to be vetted have already been identified and will be duly notified to provide requisite details.
Kiraithe said that officers not cleared during the first phase of vetting will be processed in line with the law and human resource guidelines.
