35 teams to take part in Inter-banks Sports competition

The 34th Edition of the Inter-banks Sports Week opening ceremony kicked off September 22nd 2018 at the Kenya Institute of Monetary Studies with an impressive 33 banks taking part in the sporting occasion, 14 of them present at the opening ceremony.

KIB Patron and Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya Patrick Njoroge opened the event and said that it was a glorious occasion. He added, that the discipline shown here at the sports week will be taken back to their banks and their esteemed customers will have a refreshed feel from the banks employees as a result of this.

Multiple of banks CEO’s were present at the event and were involved right from the get go being involved in the CEO’s run which was 800m of the track to the line to be crowned the fastest Banking CEO.

Polycarp representing Equity bank came in first place with a defiant finish to the line ahead of a close two and three from Paramount Bank and KCB’s Joshua Oigara.

The second race on the cards was the corporate one which saw KCB’s Peter Mwaura take part in the 1500m race.
He managed to pace himself well enough for the first two laps before bringing it home in winning fashion ahead of his Cooperative opponent who just came in second.

Finally, The tug of war event brought about the bankers’ brutal strength and KCB made light work of their first round pulling DTB bank beyond their weight.

The Inter-bank games continue into the week with the closing ceremony to be held on the 29th of September.
