More than 20 people have died and several others hospitalised after Patel Dam in Nakuru county broke its banks.
The 7PM incident has also saw 2500 people displaced.
Property estimated to be worth millions of shillings was also destroyed by the raging waters and thick mud.
Tens of people, including children, are feared trapped in the black mud.
The Kenya Red Cross and Nakuru County disaster management teams are leading the rescue operations.
