Students of Rwathia Girls’ Secondary school will be wearing skirts that are only an inch below the knees.
Education Minister Mutula Kilonzo says the new skirt will be five inches shorter than the one recommended by the school’s administration before and only two inches longer than the one the students had modified.
Addressing the media at his Jogoo House office, Mutula said, this new length of skirt was agreed upon after a comprehensive discussion between the school’s administration, the parents and the students.
The Minister also urged schools to consult widely on matters that touch to the welfare of children before they are implemented.
