Pilsner lager, one of east Africa breweries limited’s (EABL) iconic beer brands in the region has unveiled a countrywide national pool tournament dubbed league of kings pool challenge set to run from 21st January to the 4th of may 2013.
The company’s marketing director Caroline Ndungu officially launched the championship at KENCOM in Nairobi yesterday (21st Jan 2013).
“We are launching the latest activity of Pilsner following all the activities we have been doing over the years, we have officially launched the league of champions” said Caroline
The three –month tournament is expected to attract in excess of 10,000 participants with the ultimate winner taking home a cash prize KSH 250,000 and a trip to London to represent the country at the 2013 world eight pool championships in England.
It is part of Pilsner’s strategy to support the growth of the game nationally and sustain its connection with its consumers in their natural setting.
“It’s a competitions that will run across the country, it will start at the area level then build up to the region level, from the region we will enter the finale, we will be looking for 18 participants in the finals on the 3rd and the 4th, where we will run the semi finals and finals and then get a winner who will represent the country in London” Caroline concluded
The regions to be covered are, central, Western, Mountain (covering central and Upper Eastern province) and coast.
