The government intends to promote service delivery to its citizens at the grassroots levels through its E-government initiative set to be rolled out soon.
This has been necessitated by the signing of a framework agreement concessional loan amounting to 6.04billion shillings between the Kenyan government and the Chinese government for the construction of National Optic Fiber Backbone Infrastructure (NOFBI) and E- government Expansion Project.
Speaking during the signing ceremony in his office, Finance minister Njeru Githae noted that the project is aimed at providing a national broadband communication network between Nairobi and all the former provincial headquarters.
Speaking at the same ceremony signing, the Chinese Minister for commerce Chen Jian assured the Kenyan government of china’s support in the projects.
